A Crunchy, Nutty Breakfast Delight – Honey Almond Granola

Granola is one of those recipes that makes your kitchen smell like a warm hug.
The combination of toasted oats, crunchy almonds, and a golden drizzle of honey baking in the oven is heavenly. I love making big jars of this Honey Almond Granola because it’s so versatile — sprinkle it on yogurt, enjoy it with cold milk, or even eat it by the handful as a snack.

Unlike store-bought granola, this homemade version is healthier, customizable, and (of course) packed with that natural sweetness from honey. The best part? You only need 30 minutes to whip it up.

Ingredients (Makes about 6 cups)

3 cups rolled oats (old-fashioned, not instant)

1 cup almonds, roughly chopped

½ cup sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds

½ cup shredded coconut (unsweetened)

½ cup honey (preferably raw)

¼ cup coconut oil (or olive oil)

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

½ tsp cinnamon powder

¼ tsp salt

½ cup dried cranberries or raisins (optional, for after baking)

Step-by-Step Recipe

Step 1 – Preheat and Prep

Preheat your oven to 160°C (325°F). Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.

In a big mixing bowl, add oats, chopped almonds, seeds, coconut, cinnamon, and salt. Mix everything well.

Step 2 – The Honey Mixture

In a saucepan over low heat, melt coconut oil and honey together until smooth and slightly runny. Stir in vanilla extract.

Pour this liquid gold over the dry ingredients and toss until everything is evenly coated. Every oat should glisten.

Step 3 – Bake to Crunchy Goodness

Spread the mixture evenly on the baking tray, pressing it down slightly for chunky clusters.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until golden brown and fragrant.

Pro Tip: Don’t overbake — granola hardens as it cools. It might look soft in the oven but will crisp up beautifully after resting.

Step 4 – Cool and Store

Remove from the oven and let it cool completely without stirring (for big clusters). Once cooled, fold in dried cranberries or raisins if using.

Store in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks — though in my house, it barely lasts that long!

Serving Ideas

With Greek yogurt and fresh berries for a protein-packed breakfast.

As a topping for smoothie bowls.

Simply with cold milk for a quick, crunchy snack.

Why This Works

The honey doesn’t just sweeten — it also helps bind the granola, giving those addictive clusters. Almonds add a nutty crunch, while coconut oil makes everything golden and fragrant.

Once you make this, you’ll never go back to store-bought granola again.
